My medical policy with Discovery Ltd returned R67k into my Investec account. The notification was never sent to my phone, Investec Bank accepted the wire and then quietly closed my account without a word. Almost 6months later, through contact with my medical aid provider, I learned for the first time that monies had been deposited into the account (which I had placed on a transaction hold for safety reasons) but I could not trace the account or the monies. Investec breached so many fiduciary responsibilities on this case trying to cover up their mess- they increased my overdraft without any contractual agreement and without my knowledge just so they could hold onto the funds and close the account - which they had no right to do and which actually constitutes contravention of banking practice. They treated my business with the utmost disregard, shocking service. I went into the branch, I complained via email, I got supporting documents from my employer and medical aid. They did absolutely nothing. One of their employees has spent the funds and closed my account. They will never see a cent from me again, I wish their clients strength.
